Indeed.

When I inquired of my PhD manager, he responded, "I have no idea--delete
it." And this is THE guy, along with the other PhDs, who is published
everywhere and knows the product inside and out.

To say I was humored is an understatement, in that I suspected all along
this was obfus-documentation (read: poppycock) at one of its finest
moments. I surmise it was most likely penned by my predecessor who, judging
from what I'm having to slog through, couldn't write to save her life.
