These are malware, which is spreading at an alarming rate - 8 to 11 million
per hour. DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING in this emails or you will be infected. The
best thing to do, as Bonnie did, is to create a rule to send them immedately
to junk mail.
They have already changed once, and uses a variety of filenames. It used to
be CNN: Daily Alert Top 10 and is now CNN: My Custom Alerts, or something
like that.
I fail to understand why someone would create something like this, other
than a sick, perverted desire to spread chaos and destruction. Are they
proud of their accomplishments when they see it reported in the news? I
always think it must be a kid because surely adults are too mature for this
type of prank. There's no money in it, unless they made a huge bet with
someone that it could be done.
Whatever; these days one must be ever vigilent (and have good AV software).
