In general, I agree.  I feel the same way about laundry detergent.  In 
fact, depending on the type of machine and the type of detergent you 
use, it can be bad for the machine to use as much as the box says.

However, in the shampoo department, there are a couple of exceptions.  
One is is your hair is very oily, and the more important one is if you 
are using a medicated shampoo of some kind.  The first wash takes off 
the oil and dead skin on the scalp - the second actually gets more of 
the medication where it's going.
