The hot, sultry days of summer have arrived. The office air conditioning
is cranked up full blast. Brrrr!

Everyone else seems comfortable enough. The other guys are wearing
short-sleeved polo shirts. I am 5 foot 11 inches tall and 130 pounds
soaking wet. I am cold all the time, especially my hands.

My keyboarding gloves from last year were fraying and coming apart at
the seams. I took them home to repair. I sewed them up this weekend. I'm
going to wear them at home this fall and winter when my mitts are cold.

I had to get new gloves to wear in the office. I went back to Michael's,
an arts and crafts store. I found them in the stitchery section, near
the beading and sewing items. This time, I found I could buy them TWO
gloves per package, but only in Large. Same price as the smaller Medium
gloves, which still come ONE glove per package. Must pay careful
attention here.

That's one Medium glove per package for $9, which means I would have to
spend $18 for a pair. Or I could get one pair of Large gloves per
package for $9, which means I would have to spend only $9 for a pair.

I took the time to actually take the gloves out of their packaging and
try them on. Okay, my wife told me to. GRIN. She was right, of course.

Well, the handy-dandy size chart on the back left something to be
desired. According to the chart, I am exactly a medium. But when I tried
on the large gloves, they fit perfectly. Sensibly, I chose the Large
size, and spent $9. I wore them yesterday in the office when the air
conditioning began blasting, and my hands were happy.

The lessons I learned were, don't trust the size charts, try the gloves
on, and the gloves are now available two per package (in Large, anyway).

Thought I'd pass this on.
