Gates evidently told Bloomberg Business
News in 1996, "I've said some stupid things 
and some wrong things, but not that.  No 
one involved in computers would ever say

Edwin Land the Polaroid man, by the way, 
said that if you hire ordinary people and
give them comfortable salaries, job security,
and a challenge, not only will they will meet 
the challenge but they will do work you would
have thought only born geniuses could.  Land 
said that this works for a company of up to 
a hundred people.  Asked how to achieve the
same effect in a bigger company, he said he
had no idea.
