I should add, though, that when you use jargon you should do your readers
the courtesy of defining the exact sense you mean it to have. A dictionary
won't help them. It is in the nature of jargon to have a life of its own and
to adapt itself to multiple meanings.

Someone will always be there to tell you, "Oh, don't worry -- everyone will
understand what you mean." Invariably, not everyone will, even when they
themselves think they do.
