Time management issues

Hello

I would like some suggestions on how to manage time for a large project. For
example, I estimated that a project would take about a month, however,
because of release deadlines, I only have about 2 weeks. I spent a lot of
time figuring out the tool issues and so got behind.

This is the project I mentioned before: Taking the Word document (master
document) generated from RoboHelp, updating it, add conditional text,
publish it to Flare, and mark the text and images in Flare with conditional
text.

What do people do to manage time? I am not the greatest time manager, but it
is something I am trying to improve.

Any suggestions?
