Hi J,

In Word 2003, I have just noted you would need the following for chapter
3 in a new list (file)
{seq Chapter \r2 \h }
Chapter { SEQ Chapter }.{SEQ SecTwo \r\h }

At least on my computer here that is the case... I know in Word 2000 the
switch would be \r3 and begin at 3, don't know why in Word 2003 this is
different....

Deborah

Hi J,

I am pasting in some code which may be of help for you. Let me know...

Deborah

I use these mostly for numbered lists inside of Word. However, I have
also used it to do chapter numbering in long manuals...

Heading 1 = { SEQ Chapter }.{SEQ SecTwo \r\h }
Heading 2 = { SEQ Chapter \c}.{SEQ SecTwo}{SEQ SecThree \r0\h }
Heading 3 = { SEQ Chapter \c}.{SEQ SecTwo \c}{SEQ SecThree}{SEQ SecFour
\r0\h }
Heading 4 = { SEQ Chapter \c}.{SEQ SecTwo \c}{SEQ SecThree \c}{SEQ
SecFour }
Begin from 1 again = {seq Chapter \r0 \h }

To do a chapter, you would then have:

Chapter X, where X = the Heading 1 set of codes

To begin a new chapter from 3 in a new file, you would have

{seq Chapter \r3 \h }
Chapter { SEQ Chapter }.{SEQ SecTwo \r\h }
