THis is true, very true and thanks for making the distinction.

Becoming a Salaried employee does not automatically authorize one's
superiors to abuse their employees through required, unpaid work.

How many of us are required to put in un-compensated overtime due to poor
management? This would change if it was a measurable item...such as $$$. 90%
of the death marches I've worked have been due to someone, somewhere
dropping a ball.

It's not unreasonable to update the law to include PAID overtime folks. In
Utah labor laws don't even require more than simple ten-minute breaks twice
an 8 hour work period. If you ask me, that's archaic and abusive if an
employer decided to enforce it (and there are times where I've worked under
conditions where that HAS been enforced).

I've never joined the STC because it is a gutless, useless institution that
has done little to further this profession...in my opinion. Please prove me
wrong (with cited fact).
