OK, guys, these are just too funny for words...

Now, to link into the copyright stuff... Could I compile these funny
things as a list and share with some Tech Writer friends? I can't
promise they won't end up somewhere else... But they are just too good
not to share....

HA!! When I was contracting for Boeing, >>WE<< had to stomp out
individual characters with our bare feet on huge fields of snow up to
HERE so they could be read by passing planes on approach to
Sea-Tac. The serifs were a real bitch to get ~just~ right. We had
one case where the manual was almost done and an unseasonable warm
spell caused melting and refreezing, turning the carefully stomped
out Times-Roman characters into bad Old English. The whole project
had to be scrapped.

We did, however, come up with a way to use glaciers to create up to
100 hectographic copies at a go, so duplication for production was
much easier than we'd thought.
