Jodie Gilmore ranted:

"No one FORCED these people to work overtime - they could always quit and go
get a job that did pay overtime (like CNC machine milling, for instance)."

Absolutely correct. They could sell their houses, pack up the kids and, like
the Dust Bowl Days, move on to "greener pastures. Or, the company could do
the right thing and pay people for the work they do. By denying overtime,
Sun is actually cutting the contractual wages from $48 per hour to $32 per
hour. Can we assume that you would be more than glad to take a corresponding
reduction in earnings.

"They must have known up front when they were hired that they weren't going
to get overtime. If that was an issue for them, they should not have
accepted the position."

Sometimes you have to accept something that isn't perfect in order to
survive. It ain't cheap to live in the Bay Area and it costs money to move,
so you take what you can get.

"They could have also tried negotiating with the boss(es) to see if, like
CPAs, when there was a period where they worked TONS of overtime, they could
possibly trade and get a Friday off occasionally during light periods, for
instance."

That did sound like an option.

"There are lots of creative solutions that do not require the services of
over-paid greedy lawyers."

Calling lawyers over-paid and greedy is so cliché.
