And that's the trick right there: getting hired and paid.

The proposal (or active effort) is to change the labor books to read
technical communicator instead of technical writer. It's all fine and
good to change a profession, but the consequences of an isolated
change need to be weighed.

Personally, call me whatever you like (and some people use some rather
colorful terms), I'll be tailoring my "title" to whatever it is you're
looking for, if it interests me.
