I agree and do the same thing - my secondary monitor is my old 17" display I used to use as a single display for my work - it was so cramped!

I got a 20" LCD for my primary monitor, and it has made a world of difference. I can't believe I used to do all my work on the 17" tiny screen!

I plan to replace the 17" CRT with another 20" LCD in the near future. (I look forward to the increase in desk space!) I'm also considering getting a 24" or larger for my primary screen, and to use my current 20" as my secondary.

My arrangement is this: I sit directly in front of the 20" which displays my writing tools, with the 17" to my right, displaying the application I'm writing about.

I couldn't have it any other way without sacrificing my sanity! :)

I use a second monitor for a couple of reasons:

1) I keep my email open in one monitor, everything else is on the main one.

2) I keep the application I am writing about on secondary screen, and the
tool being used to do the writing on the main screen. I find it's a lot
easier to look from screen to screen than to alt-tab between subject and
work on one.

My 2¢,

John G
