RE: STC is broken

"Rise to such heights"? Gee, I dunno...

I was promoted at my last company from Technical Writer to
Communications Director when my boss noticed that my duties encompassed
far more than tech writing. The promotion was a pleasant and welcome
acknowledgement of my hard work, but it involved no changes in
hierarchy, salary, etc.

Today I'm a Quality Assurance Manager at the company that acquired that
previous one, and my duties are broader than those of Communications
Director. But I'm not bragging - my story is pretty common among
Whirlers. Check the archives...
