1. The OP didn't ask for a tool to use instead of Visio. He asked for
suggestions of useful information or functions to add to the maps.

2. Visio *can* add meta-data to drawing objects, link objects in
different files, and output to HTML. The OP probably knows how to
perform these functions in Visio.

3. You're right - you *don't* know what Visio is capable of. :-)
