Thanks, everyone. Sadly, the problem persists with my backup power supply. However, it's not as severe. AND, I just got a Freecycled Dell Latitude laptop -- it's an oldie but goodie. Once I figure out how to divide my activities between the two, I won't live in ffear of not being able to connect to my WinBook at all.

We'll see what the repair guy says.
