Just the quickest of notes to let my friends know that the surgery went
pretty well despite some complications.  They aren't fooling about a six
to eight-week recovery, but already I can tell that the previous
problems are gone or nearly so, and I'm feeling better day by day.
 
I expect to be able to spend more time on the 'net later this week.
