Back when I got to decide, or at least strongly influence, such things,
our body text was 11-pt. Palatino. I thought that struck a good balance
-- 12 pts. seemed awkwardly large, 10 pts. was hard on my tired old
eyes.

After we were acquired, we had to switch to 10-pt. Book Antiqua (a
Palatino clone, as it happens). I still think it's too small to suit me.
On a 19-inch monitor at 1280x1024, I routinely work in FM with Zoom set
to 120%.

But it's acceptable to my employer, and they seem to think it's
acceptable to our customers. And they get to decide. :-}
