Tried the suggestions in that file.i.e., adding "%1" after the "/e" and
Excel opened and loaded the file, but I got an error each time that the file
couldn't be located. Remember, I said the file loaded. I got rid of the "%1"
and went back to my original problem. It's a lot less irritating to open
Excel, leave it open, and then drag and drop the files I need when I need
them, than it is to listen to the computer beap at me and tell me that it
can't find the file it just loaded.
The beer is cold and telling me that it's time to quite fighting Microsoft
for a while...

I know what you mean about Vista. I've been thinking of buying a new laptop
for work myself, but many of the pre-configured ones that I prefer are only
shipping with Vista now-a-days. And I'm sorry (Mr. Microsoft), but I'd
rather stick with what works (XP).
Me, I don't have a puppy to play with, but I do have to get a draft of a
report out by the morning of the 2nd, so that I can interface with the
client's client in preparation for the final review of Phase I of the
project. And there's snow on the driveway and deck that needs to be
shoveled, but it's soooo much warmer in here with HAL.
