Actually, the intent at the time was a team trying to paddle
up a waterfall dragging an anchor, and was inspired by
a remark by my then-boss, the director of customer
support on the event of having our division's headcount
frozen for the third time (or maybe fourth, it was a long
time ago) within the year that preceded us all leaving the
company (which is now defunct).
