There are likely to be two kinds of people who look at
your resume and portfolio in a hiring process; namely,
business/HR people and technical people. What you want
to be able to show each is how you solve problems
(using the specific examples mentioned in other
replies). The two sets don't overlap much. Your hiring
manager, if not a Tech Pubs person but a business
person, might not understand all the red ink. For such
a person, it might be a good idea not to simply show a
raw before and after, but an excerpted, annotated
presentation of the before and after that explains
what problems you solved.
