According to the Intercom article, the STC salary survey was skewed
high, and the BLS data was skewed low.
Are you saying that STC best serves its members by providing *only* the
lowball numbers, instead of providing both?
Yes, I know, STC is working to improve BLS' definition of "tech writer,"
and we all hope it succeeds. In the meantime, STC has eliminated
something that was useful both for professional tech writers and for
their interviewers.
