If you put Help buttons in places users are not accustomed to finding them,
you can cause frustration. Yesterday I was working with an online
conferencing application and needed Help. I used the Help menu on the top,
then realized it was for my browser. I finally found Help at the *bottom* of
the application menu, a very small round button with a question mark.

I was frustrated when what I was looking for was not obvious, but I
survived. Consider your users.
