You can copy one or more cells in Excel and, in FrameMaker, choose Edit
> Paste Special > Paste Link. You will then paste the copied cell(s) as
an OLE object.

And if you want to do more complicated things, there is always
Framescript (www.frameexpert.com and www.framescript.com).
