Hey folks,

Thanks for all the responses. Definitely giving me some food for thought.

I've already begun assembling a portfolio of previous work. Currently
working on a guide on XML. I'm auditing a tech writing course at a local
college, but, as paradoxical as it sounds, really would prefer to find a
tech writing job before getting my certification (don't want to go back to
school just yet).
