I have a two-part answer.


Part 1 : From a former list member, rabble-rouser, and occasional gnostic:

Andrew Plato's 10 Steps to Prosperity

1. Shut the hell up an listen for a change.

2. The single common element in all your failed relationships (projects, 
jobs,
etc.) is YOU.

3. You only need to be correct 50.1% of the time to be a genius.

4. Perseverance furthers.

5. Where ever you go, there you are.

6. Its easier to act like you knew what you were doing after its all 
said and
done.

7. There are no simple answers for complex problems.

8. If you stare at something long enough, eventually you'll figure it 
out - or
die. Either way, you'll be at peace.

9. At the end of the day, somebody always has to sign the check.

and of course....

10. Get the hell back to work, you.


Part 2:

Get Jack Welch's book "Winning" and read it. No, memorize it. In it, he 
expounds on the following list :


"What leaders do"

1. Leaders relentlessly upgrade their team, using every encounter as an 
opportunity to evaluate, coach, and build self-confidence.

2. Leaders make sure people not only see the vision, they live and 
breathe it.

3. Leaders get into everyone's skin, exuding positive energy and optimism.

4. Leaders establish trust with candor, transparency, and credit.

5. Leaders have the courage to make unpopular decisions and gut calls.

6. Leaders probe and push with a curiosity that borders on skepticism, 
making sure their questions are answered with action.

7. Leaders inspire risk taking and learning by setting the example.

8. Leaders celebrate.
