Ben, you could also try using the web archive instead of e-mail. The URL
for this month is: http://www.techwr-l.com/archives/0708/index.html

This page gives you a threaded list of messages which you can organise
by subject or author. Each item is a hyperlink to the body of the
message. Because your browser shows which links have been clicked you
can easily see any new and unread messages.

I have a Lists folder in my bookmarks and I check the TECHWR-L link each
morning. At the start of every month I update the URL--e.g. on 1
September I'll change the URL from 0708 to 0709.

It works for me!
