Technical writers look at software from the user perspective, not a
specialized technical skill (development, QA, PM) that manages aspects
of the software. We're the only ones who look at the whole in terms of
who is actually using it.

And as much as I detest admitting it, the success of both Apple and
Windows shows us how powerful refined interfaces can be in making
people happier, more productive and less grumbly.
