Both you and Lauren got in some really good points. Model Ts, yes. We
can see the frame and the engine from where we stand.

As computers get better, there will be more tasks the user can do, and
so more of a need for technical writers. And if we ever reach a golden
age, someone will need to summarize it all.

The role of writer is eternal. Whether technical writing becomes a
profession, or one that endures, depends in part upon how well we
justify ourselves to others. And we're writers, so that should be easy,
right?
