TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Jane Lasarenko wondered: <<I am teaching a Technical Writing course
this coming fall and wanted to include some material from this
listserv. I recall not too long ago that someone posted a way to
access the list archives through Google(?)...>>
Piece'o'cake... once you know the trick. Here's the syntax in Google:
[search word or phrase] site:www.techwr-l.com
The first part is what you're looking for. Don't include the square
brackets, but if you're searching for a specific phrase (rather than
just a page that contains the words even if they're not close
together), enclose the phrase in double quotes. The second part is
the syntax saying "only include search results from the following site".
