TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
As a colleague once put it: "That is not a non-issue." :-)
Funny how some writers (?) don't always see when redundancy and
repetition are not needed. In almost every [French] litterature course
that I took, an effort was made to name and characterize all forms of
repetition (good or bad) as figures of speech.
Knowing this really helps == remove == the stuff, educate
"wannabee writers" :-), or to point out to engineers the technical
aspects of our work: stylistics.
Afterwards, I found a neat, useful list of the forms of repetition
in Lanham's _A Handlist of Rhetorical Terms_ (UCP, 1991),
and, if you read French fluently, in Mazaleyrat & Molinié's
_Vocabulaire de la stylistique_ (puf, 1989). No they don't list
any Bush-isms :-)
