Hi Shannon,
No apologies necessary -- if all of this stuff were common knowledge,
there would be fewer jobs for tech writers.
Define new paragraph styles for the text before, within, and after the
table. The style before the table should be defined as "Keep With Next."
The style within the table should be defined as "Keep With Next" and
"Keep Lines Together." The style after the table should be defined with
the extra spacing you need before the paragraph.
