Anybody using Web 2.0 sites/services for doc projects?
Subject:Anybody using Web 2.0 sites/services for doc projects? From:Roy Jacobsen <royj -at- writingclearandsimple -dot- com> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Fri, 04 May 2007 15:32:08 -0500
I'm working on an article about Web 2.0 services and what their
potential is for us pixel- or ink-stained wretches--writers, editors,
publications managers, and so forth.
The sort of things I have in mind are:
- Google or Zoho Documents to collaborate on a writing project (Zoho
also has other apps, for project managment, CRM, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Anything from 37signals, like Basecamp for project management
(37signals.com)
- SlimTimer to track billable time (www.slimtimer.com)
- 30boxes to manage your calendar or a shared calendar (30boxes.com)
- Airset to manage a shared calendar, contact list, and project information
- Wikis for a shared knowledge repository, project or document collaboration
There are plenty of other applications that call themselves Web 2.0, so
use your imagination. Any experiences, good, bad, or indifferent, I'd
like to hear about it.
The article is scheduled for the July issue of The Editorial Eye
(www.eeicommunications.com/eye).
Tusind Tak!
