Hi all,

I've written scripts to create numbered lists as tables; the first
column contains numbers and a right-tab; the second column contains
the content. I have macros that will renumber or add numbering to any
table by using the first column as the numbered one.

The numbers are hard-coded and are created by simply starting at the
first (or second) row and incrementing the previous number by one.

I'm concerned that this solution may be less flexible than, say, one
that has simple manual numbers separated by a tab from the content.

What is the best way to create numbered lists, given what we know
about numbering in 2007? I'm using Word 2003.

I'm not against switching to manual numbering, but my code might
require severe alterations since I'm not simply looking for the first
column of a table.
