Sure does seem plausible, since the skin has to be present as a separate swf file in order for the main movie to play. One way to check if that's the problem would be to decompile the main swf object and have a look at its script(s) in Flash. Not sure if you have the tools or expertise to do that though.

Seems plausible, doesn’t it? I’m
not using MenuBuilder (which is what’s discussed in your link), though,
and there don’t seem to be any likely options in the main Captivate project
preferences, though. I suspect I’m being very stupid in some way…
