Richard Combs opined:

"The thread started as a WinHelp vs. WinHelp2000 question, with Sean
suggesting HTMLHelp instead to accommodate Vista. It's not about the
Internet or Web pages or Macs or alternative browsers or the W3C or...

"It's about user assistance on a Microsoft Windows PC, which is going to
be displayed (whether you approve or not) by a Microsoft application.

"All discussions of browser share, open source software, Macintoshes,
standards compliance, etc., are beside the point. But thanks for
playing. :-)"

Richard--your points about the "original topic" seem to illustrate the
same sort of arrogance others complained about in this thread
concerning corporations who mandate a particular browser to view their
sites.

Whether you know it or not, one of the attractions and strengths of a
discussion list is that topics change to reflect real-world concerns
of the participants...despite what you appear to consider "the point"
of the discussion.

If you want to maintain some sort of purity to the topics, I suggest
you get your own list and moderate it.

"But thanks for playing."
