My boss also knows that I participate in tech writer lists. He has also asked me to post questions for him. It is not uncommon for him to say "Do you or anyone on your techwriter list know how to....?" Not to mention, when I had my yearly review my joining tech writer lists was mentioned in my "showing initiative and ability to learn new things" section. :) I was very happy with my review and this list was one of the reasons. :)
