I agree with this advice, and have done the same thing. The employer had a
really bad rep with the state, and the unemployment folks knew it. They
found in my favor, and docked me one week's unemployment, but since I got
two week's severance, it was no big deal.
Good luck, and I hope you will look back and say "good riddance." When one
door closes, another opens. It's the hallway that's the biotch! Get through
the hallway and you'll be all right :-) I sure hope for you....
