One ding-a-ling too many? was: Questions about using Wingdings and Webdings

Roger Bell inquired:
"* Do those fonts need to be embedded in the PDF?
* If you have foreign customers, especially in Asia, have any of
them reported issues of viewing Wingdings or Webdings in the PDF files
you distribute?"
Many people do not have either Wingdings or Webdings installed on
their computers. That is why embedding them in the .pdf is wise--and
it removes nearly all the difficulties associated with .pdf creation
or viewing that may arise.
I am sorry that I am not familiar with issues involving these fonts
and viewers whose systems are based on the Asiatic languages. I can
only speculate regarding the embedded fonts being viewed correctly.
