TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
That's a good point. I think Kevin awakened me to the
idea that it's necessary to qualify what I see as a
useful certification. I'm thinking something along the
lines of the MCSE, which can be studied for outside of
a classroom and then taken as a skills assessment. I
wouldn't want to make it an MBA, or anything of that
nature. I'd like it to reward the quick-witted and
adaptable, instead of producing more specialized
workers.
I know that most of the interesting people in college
had no idea what they wanted to do afterwards.
