Likewise the OP's 'for limited distribution'. Except that the phrase 'for
limited distribution' has also been used to hype the appeal of a product. 

To sum it up, I don't know what to say except that the phrase 'for limited
distribution' probably (as it ought to) means a specific thing to those
people in your company who might read it. 

The phrase 'not for public consumption' is another that I have become aware
of. In this vein why not just keep on using 'for limited distribution' but
add ...
