Re: Google hits
But just for ships and giggles, how can one check out hit No. 1,768,341?
Or anything else past the first bunch of pages?
The obvious answer is "keep hitting next page."
If what you're really asking is how to get improved search results or
increase the likelihood of finding what you're actually looking for,
here are some thoughts.
(1) Don't use Google as your only search engine. Yahoo still works
nicely, as does Windows Live and Ask.com, but there are also
metasearch tools like Dogpile (http://www.dogpile.com/) which will
return results from Google, Yahoo, MSN Search, etc. with a single
query.
(2) Pause a moment to think before you search, and look for the same
information using a variety of different search terms and keywords.
(3) If you don't find what you're looking for in the first page or two
of results, keep looking, rethink your search terms, or both.
