Some people take life far too seriously and simply enjoy being offended.
These people go looking for things to offend them. Other people have
hobbies, or children, and have no time for such nonsense.

Yes. The marketing manager at one of my jobs was offended by the following
line:
"This tutorial will teach you how to XXXXXX" where the XXXXXX was the
target lesson for the tutorial.

He insisted on the following rewrite:
"This tutorial will empower you with the knowledge to XXXXXX." or
something similar to that. I don't quite remember.

As a side note, I'm always amazed at what people will find
offensive........this guy was offended by "teach." I've met a person who
