Why would you even say this? The Social Security Administration (SSA)
created the system and they call it the Social Security Number (SSN).
Nowhere is it referred to by SSA that and SSN is an SSAN nor is there a
reference of a "Social Security Account" with respect to the number. Now
they do send an update every year about what benefits are available in the
event of disability or death. Maybe that says something about an account,
since it mentions how much money was paid into the system and what benefits
are available that year. Here is the SSA's glossary, http://www.socialsecurity.gov/glossary.htm#S.
