At the risk of being risque', I think it's not so much the size of one's ago as it is how one uses it.
My ego is "big" enough to tell me that I'm pretty darned good at what I do. It is not "big" enough to tell me that what I do is so important that the entire world (or an entire company) should stop what it's doing and collectively
turn its head whenever someone says, "My tech pubs
manager is Gene Kim-Eng, and Gene says..."
