Now that I think a bit further, I realize I have some kind of approval
seeking "I hope I did it well enough to please the real writers" complex
going on here. I overlook the fact that the book evolved, and was "beta
tested" by the readers it targeted, over the span of a couple years. It
doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, and I have no reason to
develop some kind of thumb sucking looking at my toes I hope I'm good enough
complex now. It reached its audience, was well-received, and therefore I
made choices that worked. Plus I got paid!

Turning all of this into a day job is another thing though. It looks like I
will be taking another job driving a truck to keep food on the table. Bleck.
