Hey everybody
Thanks for the posts - I feel better
To the person who said ""Teaching is well paid, where?" I meant "Coming
from teaching" - "Compared to teaching, I felt tech writing was great
pay in comparison
Sorry for the typos in "conversion" should have been "conversation" and
"on" should have been "one"
Interesting comments on Business Analysts. More than one of you wrote me
that it isn't necessarily considered great shakes. Most of you wrote it
depends on the specific position, how it is defined, and most of all,
what YOU bring to the table, and how you market YOU and what you think
of yourself. With anything actually. My, how true. Because I DO think
WORLDS of TW it really shines through. I guess I never appreciated that
about me. Because I get my hackles (sp?) up, just naturally , because I
truly believe it whenever anyone here, or anywhere, starts with their
"Oh anyone can do documentation" clap. I nip them right off (nicely of
course.). So in interviews, I go in and really sell myself when it is
interview time because I truly believe in the worth of what we bring to
the table. Maybe that is what has caused me to have the salary I have
which is fairly good even for California. Hmmm. I never appreciated
that.
Yeah, because when this Denver person said this I was surprised.
It could also be the Denver vs. CA market. We have lots of Software co's
here who really need us. I don't know about there. Software co's really
depend on us. Other types of co's need us too - but some types of
industries may not, or may feel that a secretary would do.
Who knows.
BTW error on our part with the tax. WHEW! We won't owe Uncle Sam
several thousand - Yes Barbara, there IS a Santa Claus. I didn't eat all
day yesterday!!!!! Not even chopped liver!!!!!!
