My area is slightly different from Dori's (medical devices instead of
food), but it's a similar story: If I showed you my job description (QA
Manager) and told you that the job title was Senior Technical Writer,
you wouldn't be surprised.
Most tech writers have to listen to the user, the boss, and their own
good sense. Part of the fun here is that there's a fourth voice -- FDA
-- and (believe it or not!) it's sometimes the most rational and
objective one.
