I've applied to three direct hire positions and got all three; one
where I was a contractor previously which according to your criteria
doesn't count. The one where I am now, and one where I was hired as a
contractor with the requirement to be converted to employee 90 days
after hire (though three months later they put a freeze across the
company).

The two that count, having the long resume showing a wide range of
expereinces was part of the determination.
