My 35 years experience is on 2.1 pages (just went four lines over ... might have to deal with that) and none of it is repetitive. I also can't remember the last time I submitted it in the dead tree version; it goes out as a PDF file, so the four extra lines doesn't translate into an extra page of heft or thickness.

I list every job I've had but instead of focusing on the docs I wrote, I explain a bit about the technology that I worked on. My really old stuff is the very most technical (operating systems, language compilers, systems utilities) so I keep that in to show I've got some serious technical chops. A lot of the rest focuses on such potentially important concepts as working on the first product in a new and emerging market, starting a doc team from scratch, working overseas, etc.

My 2¢

I do not list what I did on the resume. In most cases I wrote technically.

I list accomplishments, for example: reduced operating overhead by 27% by
redesigning and streamlining process procedures.
Successfully created and implemented ISO 9000 documentation, enabling client
to retain the customer who accounted for 52% of their annual revenue.

Who is the audience of the resume? It's somebody who wants to know how I am
going to improve their bottom line.
